5th Annual Austin’s Snowmobile Ride for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

On February 21, 2009 more than 70 riders gathered at the 5th annual Austin's ride held at the Colebrook Country Club, Colebrook New Hampshire. Austin's ride is a snowmobile event to promote the awareness of cystic fibrosis, and raise money towards a cure. The scenic snowmobile ride through northern New Hampshire was followed by a catered lunch. Riders raised money through pledges, with contributions, silent, and live auctions, more than $11,000 was raised towards this worthy cause. Riders who raised money through pledges went into a raffle. The winner was awarded a ski Doo factory tour and Valcourt, Québec including an overnight stay.

This snowmobile event is named in honor of Austin, a young boy from Salisbury with cystic fibrosis and the son of one of Four Star Limousine's mechanics. When Brion and Georgieanna Svenson, owners of Four Star Limousine, first met Austin five years ago, they were inspired by the challenges Austin and his family would face.

Cystic fibrosis is an inherited terminal disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States.

For the first time this year, Austin was able to ride his own Mini-snowmobile provided by Four Star Limousine through local fund raising efforts including a raffle for a six-hour night out in a 10 passenger limousine and other contributions. G&G Cycles of Salisbury Ma and Imagine Studios of Amesbury mass joined with Four Star Limousine as sponsors for this very special event.

A Mini-Z snowmobile is a child sized snowmobile that is governed at 8 mph. With engine and suspension upgrades the Mini-Z snowmobile can grow at the pace of the child and his/her abilities. It was important to Four Star Limousine to get this Mini-Z snowmobile to Austin so that he could participate in his own self named event and make the most of every day he has.
